Always late to the party, but never underdressed.

This is not a post I was planning on making, not that I tend to plan my posts, only sometimes I do. Anyway. Had a super dull weekend, the best parts were the occasional moments of silence (we are redoing our bathroom, there is constant drilling, CONSTANT, it drives me mad!)

1. This is the last post about Skins, I am ever going to make. I spend an ( Read more... )

fandom musings, i guess i'll need a figureskating tag, tv: skins

Thank you for posting about him, it was totally the foot massager video you posted that made me think OH MY GOD, I NEED MORE OF HIM NOW. And everything I saw/read made me love him more, even though I am so clueless when it comes to anything sport. Am right now dl-ing episode one of his tv show! :DDDD

I think so, but I am going to have a look now. :D

He IS magic. (literally in that one fic I read. Also a vampire)

I have the biggest urge to write about him with ZQ
OHH. DO IT, THAT WOULD BE EPIC. Like, I want to read him it everyone ever, but ZQ would be especially fun.

This post. I love this post.

1/ There has been complete silence since the last episode aired. Especially compared to the reaction the penultimate one got. I sent an email to a friend after I saw it, and basically cut all ties with the show. I can't quite believe they ended it like that, with the ridiculous character 'developments'. I mean, Panda, really. Emily and Naomi's relationship was one of the best things about this show for the first half of the last season, and the terrible writing has actually made me dislike them. The only good thing was Cook. The last scene made me tear up. He was just so brilliant. :/

3 HAHAHA. YES to the rec post please! And have you uh, any links to primers? I tried reading fic, but got stuck because I don't know who any of these people are/look like/come from, and nothing made sense. XD

I didn't know you watched Skins! Is that Chris in your icon? See, that was a well written death. It's like all the writers decided to get high whilst plotting the season and then couldn't bother editing out the random shit they added for the lulz. It still makes me angry when I think about it.

I loved Naomi as a character and then they just ruined her. Basically yeah, I agree with everything you just said.

Haha, excellent! this is a great primer, it is mostly about Johnny Weir, but most fic is about him anyway. (ilovehimsomuch) Watching random youtube videos is what I've been doing to find out more.

I loved Chris! I'm more of a sporadic Skins follower. I've not seen the end of S2 or S3, mostly because the writers have a habit of turning the whole thing on its head and I'm left going o___O.

Yes! Everything about her final speech contradicted her story line last season. HOW DID THEY NOT NOTICE THIS?

YAAAY thank you! I've been clicking on Youtube too, it's all so fabulous. :D

I think that it's probably a better viewing experience, as a lot of the episodes stand up a lot better on their own, then the season arcs tend to. A few of the season 4 eps were actually really good, but the end ruined everything. :(

I don't think it was planned, but Naomily has a ton of fans, so they just changed it to keep them happy. And failed miserably.

I can't believe that three days ago, I had no interest in this and now I am reading fics about people I know nothing about and seriously considering writing some. It is just so shiny and awesome. :D

It really, really works and it is so simple, but it makes such a difference.

I've actually read over old stories and spotted typos and cringed because of how many people must've read it and never told me.

Yeah, me too, I am terrible with typos. And that's why I tend to tell others, but I have seen people get defensive and upset when someone points out mistakes of a similar magnitude and it always baffles me.

Too many people are too easily butthurt over concrit and "concrit." But actually what bugs me most are people who dismiss it. The "I write for fun! I don't care about grammar!" camp of folks. I kinda stopped mostly out of that. Too many people came back with an "I don't care." So it's like, well, if you don't care, then neither do I.

Exception, of course, always being people whom I know, whether friends or at least people whom I've established an acquaintanceship with, so at least I have a good sense of how they'd react.

Oh god, yes. Some people even put it in the a/n "wrote this in an hour and it sux, but I don't care about grammar, lol SO DON'T TELL ME IT'S WRONG, OK? Like, get a life!" it fills me with so much rage. :((

50% of the time, I'm annoyed with those, but the other 50% of the time, it's like: thanks for letting me know that I can delete this right away! :D

Haha true, I think they are hoping to get lots of reassuring comments telling them it doesn't suck, but I refuse to read them.

I am SADDENED by this

Sorry. :/ Season 3 was so much better, and there were parts of 4 I liked a lot, but the end sort of killed that.
