I approve most highly of your priorities. Special congrats on the teapot - I broke mine about a year ago (glass pot + kitchen floor = sad panda), and tea just isn't the same with bags or infusers.
I am also glad to hear that I'm not the only person who can't find anything after the house has been cleaned...
Oh dear, broken teapot! I've had a glass teapot break, all over my feet, a coupla years ago now. Not fun to clean up after. Luckily, the one I bought is all ceramic and stable.
I found the scanner in a wardrobe in our spare room. Much rejoicing and bafflement. Good to hear that I'm not the only one, too :)
A friend gave my flatmate a tea pot, with the implication that he would use it to brew tea in a social manner. However what has happened is that I have permanently kidnapped it for caffeine binges and long-running comfort drinks.

I have always felt, no matter how fancy or old and chipped, a teapot is always happiest when it is steeping and steaming hot.
