China Mieville - amazing imagination. I keep meaning to read Perdido Street Station again, because without spoilering anybody, I'll just say that in year ten I was way too young for the ending and wanted the kind of Redemption(TM) which I now find to be ideologically vomitous. What's Un Dun Lun about?

Oh, wow. I only read Perdido Street Station two, three years ago. I bought The Scar, and read it. Iron Council I picked up at the last lifeline, but I'm a bit scared to read it, cos a friend said it let her down.

Blurb from the back of Un Lun Dun;

Zanna and Deeba are leading ordinary lives until they stumble into UnLondon, an urban Wonderland of strange delights. Here all the lost and broken things of London end up, and some of its lost and broken people are too - including Brokkenbroll, boss of the broken umbrellas (this was where I was SOLD on the book), Hemi the half-ghost boy and a friendly milk carton called Curdle. But UnLondon is under seige by the sinister Smog; it is a city awaiting its hero.

You were, in fact, just looking worn and tired. You mentioned something bout the neverending line.

I'm going to read it tomorrow morning, while waiting for my lift to an rpg to arrive.

Monster Blood Tattoo I haven't heard of it. What sort of fascinating things? Or should I just go read it for myself?
