I love this story!! And I'm amazed to see that you have so few comments. This is a marvellously analytical and entertaining look at the two last Time Lords, their relationship and how the Doctor feels about himself. The only aspect missing is any Mater POV but since the story is told from the Doctor's POV that's to be expected. Besides, writing the Masters POV is not only extraordinary difficult but its also not a good place to be for too long .... I've written enough Master-centric fic to know that, at least, LOL ( ... )

Wow, thanks for your message, and I feel so honoured that my fic inspired you enough to write something of your own! I love Face Down; I'm totally accepting it as a kind of prequel xD

Out of the fandoms I've written for, this fic was one of my favourites to write, and one of the few to hold my attention to such a ridiculous word count. I loved working on it, but I was never totally sure whether anybody else would ever like it, since it was so much inside my head. Which is why it means a lot that it actually meant something to you.

It's actually kind of weird that I write mostly Doctor POV fics when I much prefer the Master to him, and can write the Master more easily. Maybe I just like giving myself a challenge!

Incidentally, was having a bit of a nosy round your website and I spotted your brilliant Mad Dogs fic. Nice one :)
