I don't know about that Near. Looks like a girl to me. Obata's drawing style uses to be better, imo.

I just saw her journal (>w<) (I made this entry before I saw it). I didn't know that she had done the photoshop effect herself, that's seriously awesome! I remember that you did a Matt & Mello one in the past too, ne?

It seems that the Near character is a boy. Or at least, the person who posted the scans calls him "he". Obata-sensei's style is more manga-ish and moe here, while it was more realist in Death Note. I actually love both styles myself, as I'm weak to moe art (^^;
This new one seems easier to draw too.

I guess it's just that moe style is not my cup of tea, but, dunno, I used to love Obata's work sooo much, I'm a bit disappointed.
You may be right, this one looks easier, and that's always a plus when you have to draw a chapter every week.

Me da un poco de vergüenza verlas (suerte que están censuradas, haha), pero las caras son absolutamente geniales. ¡Y el "actor" de Matt tiene la piel como siempre se la dibujas tú! Qué guapos son los dos, has hecho una buena elección (>///<)
Me encanta ver versiones reales de los personajes. Lo que me recuerda que aún tengo que hacer algún post sobre cosplay.

A mí este estilo tan desenfadado y moe sí que me gusta. Es menos realista y detallado, claro, pero a mí me gustan los estilos moe, así que no me puedo quejar.

Lo que me pregunto es si él se divierte dibujando este manga. A mí me pareció algo peñazo; no hay acción ni emoción ni nada, y recuerdo que él comentó que una de las cosas que le gustaban de Death Note es que le brindaba la oportunidad de dibujar cosas que siempre había querido, como la escena del autobús con Raye Pember.

His name is... Shiratori. Yeah, he looks like Near and he's very cute in this chapter but personality wise he's nothing like Near. I thought this chapter was adorable :p .

I like Bakuman and I've been reading it since the first chapter. It's nothing like Death Note indeed, it has lots of romance...
However, it's definitely better than Ral Grad, that's for sure.

But many people draw uke!Near like that *amused*.

Anything is better than Ral Grad. The very little I saw was a bunch of fanservice put together (X_X;
I wonder if Obata-sensei had fun drawing that.

If Mr. Obata had fun drawing that do you think it would finish so quickly? It just had 29 chapters!
Maybe he was excited at first because he never drew a manga full of fanservice but he sure got bored quickly xD .

No me había dado cuenta del Near de Bakuman y eso que lo leo todas las semanas, supongo que intento no pensar mucho que son los autores de Death Note, me deprimo cada vez que lo hago.

Y ya tienes a una tercera persona que se queja del estilo en Bakuman ww Aunque sea más mono, exagera mucho las expresiones y a veces los personajes parecen horribles, que no es que sean una maravilla de diseños tampoco. Y encontraba mas moe el estilo de antes que este ;;

Sinceramente, tengo ganas de que acabe el manga para dejar de leerlo ya .
