well, in my uni, since i'm taking japanese major, there are some native speakers we usually talk to everyday and i recently i get close with this Nozomi-san, well she's only 3yrs older than me, but she's our sensei..
sometimes when i dun understand things like idiom or hanakotoba i never heard of or even when i dun understand thing, i asked her what's the japanese word for it..
maybe it is hard to talk to nihonjin in japanese but when u talk to them frequently, it'll help you increase your japanese =33
haha! i talk to my sensei pretty often, but she understands our level so she knows what we mean. But getting to know a new friend whom is like your age is freaking stresssssss
oh it happened too, there was this todai boy coming at my uni for several days and i was trying to talk to him in japanese and he replied in english~ -____-"
LOL! he's like my another friend that's always going on about america and english. but this one is like, talkin in jap, he say if im too stress he can talk to me in english but it loses the point doesnt it~
When i tried to reply many ppl when I was in Japan, i just couldn't. it seems smth paralyzes me I mean, my jap just sucks, but I thought i could take care of it but no /sobss
