" Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize..."

Silly me has let a trash can's existence go to waste as it sits next to my desk carrying random items that I've shoved in it. Every now and then over the past few months I've had-- no shit, _trash_ and nowhere to put it and thought; my, my, if only that trash can didn't have all that other crap in it, then I could actually use it as a trash can!MBF ( Read more... )

I've been thinking that a bit, too. I mean, the people who know exactly what they want. I've got some ideas nowadays, some vague ideas somewhere far away... but they have nothing to do with stuff like "What are you going to do after lukio?" or "What do you want to study?" or anything useful like that. How lucky are those who know what they want to do! They are (most likely, koska ruoho on vihreämpää aidan toisella puolen) more motivated and it's easy for them to prioritise(?), whatever, priorisoida anyways. :D You know, divide their time so that they pay more attention to subjects that are important for their future studies and consider less the other subjects. Hooh... But anyhow, I think that things settle in a more or less tolerable way. Ok, save the doubt that I won't make it through lukio, but otherwise. *cackle* A scheme by Jan sounded quite good, it basically started from taking a year off, continued with not being sure what he'd want to study and ending in the speculation that he'll apply to a uni when he's somewhere around 30 ( ... )

There were times when I thought long and hard about wishes...what I would wish for, in what order, how to save some ... well, I didn't think as hard as I'm making it sound now, but yeah... more than normal people probably have any reason to... it lead me to some interesting ideas however... from philosophy ( ... )

It's been said that...it's not the destination sometimes, but the journey that is important... and I think this makes things a bit more clear, too, summarizes things... we need to try and go somewhere, to set goals, to move in life, but sometimes your goals change, and sometimes, you reach them, and need new ones... being somewhere is valuable, but in life things aren't meant to stand still, I think ... so the process of the evolution of the soul, one might say, might be one goal... self-discovery that leads to getting what you -really- want more (or knowing what things that you are getting that are actually best for you, which is not always what you -want- (perhaps if you don't know what's best for you?)) and in this self-discovery, a big part of the process is simply, learning what questions to ask. Another very old idea; sometimes, the question is more important than the answer - asking the right things, that will lead you to an understanding of a problem, yourself, and the world, when you finally do find the answer, rather than ( ... )

Oo...I finally read the whole thing! (yay xDD!)
Thanks for replying :3 I'll check out that entry of yours...Celestine Prophecy? What's that? -never heard of it-

My rant wasn't meant to be so very philosophical...xP I mostly had shooting stars and birthday candles in mind when I wrote it. I just get irritated with the widespread idea that 'tomorrow is a better day' since 'tomorrow never comes', y'know? I want people to make today a better day and understand why I try to enjoy myself everyday and not just prepare for the future...-making excuses-

Ah, you had me worried for a sec...I thought I forgot to credit the creator xD
This icon of Kyo (from Furuba/Fruits Basket) is by psychodragon82 (on LJ...if I remember correctly). I try to remember to credit ppl on the icons page ^^

That's why, I thought so, I borrowed the first volume of Fruits Basket from a friend and love it, so I kind of recognised Kyo. :P

Fruits Basket is great ^^ I've only watched the anime so far, but people have been nagging at me to read the manga...It's supposedly even better :3

You should try reading scanlations on the internet if you don't have access to all the paperback volumes ^^;
