Glad you liked it! Hm, a myopic dragon, that would be funny! I didn't have the heart to ground him, but I was imagining him in reading glasses... :D

I probably should have thought 'dragon,' but my first thought was actually sentient space ship. You know, brain-in-a-jar style personality imprint on some kind of super sophisticated spy plane or something. Dragon is an excellent choice, however! *laugh* I'd certainly be curious to see where you might take this idea next.

That's a really interesting idea. Daniel as an immortal high-tech space ship... Kind of like KIT, with all the sarcasm and smarts.

I keep thinking of, "You are now interfacing with the Daniel Jackson." and Daniel's face when he hears that. :D

Daniel has the most marvelous expressions. That would be a serious loss if he were a spaceship, it's true. But I'd kinda love to see it/write it anyway. (Not writing it now, too many plot bunnies already!)

I can imagine him doing the Thor voice: "No, Jack. I really don't think you want to push that button, not if you have any fondness for, you know, breathable atmosphere. But that's just a comment, from the resident expert. Don't mind me."

I'm not familiar with that universe so I didn't recognize it in this piece. Come to think of it, I have that first book from the series. I think it is still part of the Giant Pile O'Books To Be Read that has been lurking by the bookcase. I'll definitely have to dig it out.

It's an interesting cross for this SG-1 AU. I'd like to see more.

I thought of this when I was reading the fourth novel. I could really imagine Daniel as a testy dragon, very young and arrogant but needy too. And Jack as aviator? Too adorable (sorry, Jack, I mean hot) for words.

You definitely need to dig that out! I like the first one the best; it shows the growth of the pair's life together, plus the transition between their lives before and after they join the Corps. Also, I love the cover art to all the paperbacks so far, which is a silly reason to buy a book of course, but hey...

The absolutely astonishing thing to me is that I just heard about this series TODAY! From someone in an entirely different fandom!

So I was saying, 'Wait a minute!" :-D

Ha, timing! How great! I read it and had to read through the comments before I even figured out what fandom it was in. But yes, definitely. Temeraire is very much Master and Commander with dragons (and an easier vocabulary, IMO). I've never read those books; I guess the sea life and war just doesn't grab me. I read Temeraire for the dragons and the character relationships. I'm afraid a fabulous retelling of a famous(?) large-scale invasion in the third book bored me, but I think you may like it. :) Go read!

Cool! I haven't read the Temeraire books, though I've read a few fanfic crossovers before. I started to get a niggle when Jack was looking at the photo, and then definitely suspected at partners to the 'Reds'.

I'd read more of this!

*POUNCE Fanfic crossovers? Where?! Do tell.

Yay, how neat that you figured it out. Glad you enjoyed! I'm no good with sustained writing, but I do want to get Jack and Daniel talking at least. *g

Doggonit, the one that first came to mind turns out to be a Dragonriders of Pern story (which I also haven't read). (It is, however, adorable: go read!) I'm sure I read Temeraire fic, but maybe it wasn't crossover? Bah. Bad brain. :-(

So, yeah, more of this!

I have read this, actually, but I couldn't find the link. I had the one on Wraithbait which didn't link to the sequel. *points up Thanks, I've changed the link now. You should read at least a little Pern, by the way. (I've only read three or so, but would like to read more.) It's quite unusual in being both sci-fi and fantasy, and I'm pretty sure Pern is responsible for the now popular view of dragons as friend/partner rather than foe. Go read!
