Thanks for letting me know! Temeraire is set in the era of the Napoleonic Wars, but in a universe that has dragons. Of course, dragons are taken into service as the 'Air Force', with various sizes/species put to different tasks. (Big ones serve as gunships; little ones can be couriers.) It's a fascinating what-if with plenty of interest for non-history buffs (like me).
