My dear, I officially love you.
That was f'ing brilliant.
Loved the format you chose; it's so fitting. Upside down and inside out - just like Jack's psyche.
And poor Jack, still so helplessly (and hopelessly?) in love. I'd love to know how Daniel feels about the whole ordeal, about Jack... ::hint-hint::
But whether you decide to write a fourth part or not, the whole series (as it is) is fantastic. You excel at writing creepy!Jack and coping!Daniel. ::beams::
I hope you'll write many, many more stories like that. You made my week! :o))

I'm so glad you liked the format. I wanted the slow reveal of Jack's Evolution Into Evil!(TM), and I liked the fall backwards to 'normal' that I could coincide with the story in the present. Also, you know, I just thought it'd be cool. ;P
Yes, Jack is still in love. It's not hopeless, I hope. If it were real life, probably, but these are guys who go through 44min of trauma every week and laugh it off! :) Not that the proper amount of angst isn't required of course. The fourth story was/is indeed about Daniel. It rounds off their relationship a little bit better. Perhaps after I've read somethings fluffy and happy, I'll come back to this universe. o_O
Thanks so much for lovely comments. :)
(By the way, when I hit a block, I found this thoroughly inspiring, thanks. *G!)

Oh uhm... pure coincidence, y' know... ::clears throat:: ...Not like I was avidly searching my friends page every day in the hopes of finding this. ;op
And the icon is home-made! ::beams::

It so is. It's perfectly disquieting and unbalancing.

Heh! I can imagine. You need to recharge the batteries with cute and fluffy in order to delve back into trauma. ;o))

You're very welcome, hon. Thank YOU for the wonderful read. ::bg::

I think we need one last one, to determine what happens with the Jack/Daniel side, but that's only because I hate loose ends.

Oh, that's very flattering! I hope it was worth the wait. I tried to explain enough about what happened to Jack without ruining whatever you guys may have built up in your imaginations. ;)
Happy? Well, how about a hopeful ending then... :)

When I read part 1 I wasn't very fond of it, it was too creepy and scary.
Then came part 2, and it was still way creepy, but sad and claustrophobic too.
And now this, where the creepyness goes away, but it's so sad, and kinda hopeless - at least for poor Jack.
So, yeah, I'm just going to join the chorus for a part 4, where Daniel gets his thinky thing on and fixes everything ;-)
Oh, and I love the format entirely. The whole counter-progression is brilliant. And all this because of a thing that saved Jack's life... any connection with the sarcophagus-thing?

part 4, where Daniel gets his thinky thing on and fixes everythingHa! What a description! :) Daniel has his hands full at the moment, being traumatized, guilty, and mad as hell. But I'm sure in time he'll fit it into his schedule to (over)think things over and try to force Jack to stop being a paranoid ass. :D ( ... )

It is hopeful - it's just also very sad, because it's so easy to imagine Jack running himself into the ground with his guilt.
And I'm (shh... don't want to interfere in your ideas) thinking that Daniel was already getting his thinky thing on, and figuring out that Jack was feeling so guilty he'd quit. And making Jack's staying at SGC a part of his 'punishment', was Daniel's way of trying to save him.
Because, sure, Daniel has issues (lots of them), but you're absolutely right, even after this (hell, even during this), Jack is still the most important person in Daniel's world. And Daniel's very aware that Jack would die a slow death (metaphorically, if not in actuality) if he got to stay at home with nothing but his guilt for company.

How very interesting! Personally, I feel for them both about equally. Jack has an amazing amount of guilt, so he's sort of being slow-tortured over a long period of time, whereas Daniel was in pure hell for a concentrated three weeks. Besides, Daniel was abused by his friend whom he trusted. (He trusts Jack so much, in fact, that he feels safer when he thinks about Jack, while being raped by... well, Jack.) Both their situations are compounded by the fact that there is pretty literally no one to blame. It wasn't malicious intent or even properly a mistake that caused this; it was an emergency effort to save Jack's life, one that had unexpected side-effects. So there's no one entity to blame. Now Jack puts the blame on himself, but Daniel is left at odds. Daniel's forgiving people all the time -- Teal'c and Jack and Skaara, Sha're, even Apophis' host. It must be a terrible strain. Both of them have a lot to work out.
I wonder if Sam, Teal'c and all (other than the ( ... )
