[He blinked slowly as the bright light reflected off of the vast waters and white sand. This was most definitely not a stretch of a recent Hawkzile race and Teito was certainly not centimeters from within his grasp

[It's not a Teito. But there is a large black dog that had been frolicking around on the beach until you appeared. The large dog bounced a couple of times before running up to you, tail wagging. He seemed to be expecting something.]
[He raises his eyebrows as he looks down at the dog. Weren't there rules for these kinds of animals? Like keep them on their leashes and don't let them out on the beach? Oh well. He pulls off one of his gloves before kneeling down to let the animal sniff his hand.]
I don't suppose you know where civilization is on this land mass?
[...Sniff? Nah. He's going to lick it instead. Besides, there is just no keeping this dog on a leash. It probably wouldn't work well. At your question he'll off a bark, wagging his tail a little more before starting off down a path. He goes a little ways before stopping to look back and make sure you're following.]
[He looks at his hand for a moment, his mouth curving ever so slightly into a frown. He stood up straight and wiped his hand on his pants before following the animal.]
[It won't be hard to sense see you anyway, and when he finally does, maybe freezing a tiny bit.]
... Y-you're.. [He remembers you, Ayanami. Only because another version of you was on this island before. Never saw much of you, but oh geez that darkly presence was enough to want to stay away.]
[The only one who hadn't given him a half-way rude reception so far was the dog. His stay here was going to be interesting. Hopefully it wouldn't be that long.]
[Don't mind Aqua, she was just heading out here for some technique practice. Or rather, she was until her power sense picked up on that underlying darkness of yours. Now the reason she's in the area is more to make sure things aren't about to explode in any way.]
...Hello, sir.
[She'll be polite enough despite her doubts--there's no excuse to be otherwise just yet. At the very least, you aren't Xehanort, so that's...something.]
[His eyebrows raise very, very slightly before falling back to their usual place.]
So we truly are trapped here...
[He would find a way out. He had to.]
Pity. [He nods to her.] Thank you miss. I'll be on my way.
[He pauses and turns back around to face her.] I never introduced myself. That was rude of me. I apologize. My name is Ayanami. What may yours be? [So he can keep in mind to return the kindness that you have shown him on this day.]
[He just takes a couple of steps closer, but makes sure to stay out of her reach just in case. He didn't know what these mermaids incentives were and until he did, he'd be wary.]

Hello miss.
[For a moment he considers the fact that there might not even be a town on this island, but he seriously doubts that.]
Do you, by chance, know the way to town?
Reply
Oh, it's just over that hill.
[She'll be half-turning to point in the correct direction.]
You can find just about anything there, except for a way out.

Aya-tan, you've finally returned~
[Though it's doubtful you remember anything. Ah well, on to that question then.]
You know, I'm still not entirely sure of that.

[Someone has some explaining to do.]
I'm not surprised.
