You're dead on with so many things in this post. If someone's work is crap, why shouldn't someone be able to tell them to help them? Better that than have them find out some other horrible, embarrassing way
( ... )
ok. not to sound bitchy. ok. well yea. i guess it was and sometimes i can be bahaha
there is NOTHING wrong at all with someone starting out. there's always going to be someone newer, younger, smarter, hotter. kudos to them. if i like them, i may try to help them or take the time to be nice to them. or rather, take the time to NOT be a asshole, heh.
my jan schedule is going to be hell. but it's also going to be a blast. my home is here, in cali, but the thing is, many of my friends are over there too. and i'm just as comfortable there as anywhere else. tho i do miss my own bed at times, tho admittedly, i'd rather be travelling than stuck at home.
as far as finding out things in some horrible and embarrassing way, sometimes it's what people need. especially those that blind to even the most obvious. i'm not thinking of anything specific here, but just like in other factors in life, a good smack in the face can be a glorious wake up call
um.. i prefer the gentle smell of donuts... shit. hungry now. bed first. food in am.
maybe it's more to do with the method of criticism? alot of the fetishy people I know are really direct and blunt, and alot of them, being the brilliant bastards they are, also compress thought- so they'll say something sucks, maybe with a short reason as to why, but never really flesh it out, exploring why it sucks- so their comment instead of being of any use, is more seen as snarkiness, oe just a dumb loon. side note- I can't stand the "tell me the best" mentality. we're all different, you morons. my best could very well be your deepest fear. explore your own life.
That's one of the big things that bothers me about the fetish "community" as a whole--THERE's NO CRITICISM and when there is, the person who's criticising get accused of being "jealous" among other petty things.
I for one, adore criticism--I like it when people tell me that my shit stinks--it helps me improve on what I've been doing. What I hate, is if I give an honest opinion on someone's work that's not a glowingly positive review that I'm somehow a jealous cunt for doing so.
Criticism is one of the #1 things needed in order to make one's work better and hinders stagnation.
And the next time some model or photographer bitches that someone posted that they're ugly or fat or blah blah blah deserves a kick in the ass.
If you're concerned about what people are going to say about you or your work, then a superficial industry like modeling is the wrong career. Plain and simple.
