Earthquake rocks Los Angeles!

Wow! That was scary. A 5.4 earthquake hit about an hour ago. It lasted 5 seconds, and it was the first significant earthquake that I remember being in. It felt like the ground was doing the wave, which I do not like.. My legs started to warble, and all I kept saying is, "The house is moving. The house is moving..." Luckily I was already

it must have been really noticeable where you are, we felt it all the way up here in santa barbara.... i was sitting in my car as it was warming up and i thought i was going insane because it felt like it rolling back and forth. i'm a nerd. glad you and your house are ok :)

Wow! Yeah it does have a rolling feeling, I don't like that! We had some stuff rattled in the house, but nothing was broken. Glad to hear you're good too!

We had a 6.8 about 50 miles from Seattle in 2001 and it really messed stuff up. I still avoid one of our raised freeways because it still hasn't been really fixed ( http://www.seattlechannel.org/issues/viaduct.asp ). Scary sheeit.

6.8, wow. Just based on what a 5.4 felt like, I can't EVEN imagine how scary a quake of that magnitude would be like. There was some water pipes that burst in the area, but nothing too serious.
Hopefully you didn't have too much damage in that 2001 earthquake!

It was intense! And who knew houses are that flexible...It just seemed to roll with the waves from the ground.
