Writer's Block: Eat, Drink, Be Merry

Giblet gravy. I could never eat it. For those who don't know Giblets are the the heart, liver, neck and gizzard of the turkey.  The Giblets are cooked to create a broth and then the meat is chopped to go into the gravy made from the broth. Boiled eggs are chopped and added to the gravy.

I could never eat any kind of organ meat. My mom and mother-in-law both made that type of gravy. My German landlady make carp soup. She cut the carp into three pieces and used beer in the soup. I tasted the soup,but didn't have to eat the carp. She cut it so there was the head, middle and tail in the soup. The head of the house got the head of the fish. Ugh!

Just the thought of giblet gravy makes me sick.

No way could I eat that mess. Organ meats freak me out. Nasty stuff.
