Whew! The last few days have been a bit intense, rich in texture and terrifying with possibilities. The End first --- everyone is safe and sound, at home tonight.

So, backing up a bit --- last week, we hung on pins and needles with concern for our daughter-in-law, whose growing fatigue and other health issues opened the door to the dreaded word,
