New plan for attaining fame and fortune:
1. Create an anonymous blog called "The Angry Consultant."
2. Post true stories about the clients I work with.  No exaggeration necessary.
3. ???
4. Profit!

Today what makes me happy is that despite the above, at the end of the day, I can laugh about it and still love what I do.

I made it to my first real vacation of the summer - only a four-day weekend, but that just sounds like heaven right now!  Ed and I are flying to Chicago tomorrow to spend the 4th with my family and some friends.  I can't wait!

So now that my life has gotten back to normal a little bit, I've started taking yoga classes at a real studio.  I just had my third one today.  Verdict so far: Hard as hell, and I love it.  The first class I took might be one of the hardest workouts I've ever had - it was one of those "muscles I didn't know existed" ones where I was sore for two ( Read more... )

Ok, I fail at posting again.  It has been an insane few weeks, and I'm just now getting back on something that resembles a normal schedule.  The much-anticipated move did indeed happen.  It was by far the worst-organized move I have ever made; it involved massive underestimation of how much furniture we have, a funny-now-but-not-at-the-time epic ( Read more... )

This is spiffy.  The graphics look about 10 years old (when was the last time you actually saw an applet?) but the simulation is mesmerizing and all too familiar.  Click on "Ring Road" and you will suddenly understand the Beltway!
