Sadly today is Monday, which, as we all know, means work. Furthermore, it means payroll week, which means I can't steal little bits of time to sit and covertly write ( Read more... )

So far, so good.

Even with an outline, all writing is essentially pantsing. You need to sti and write. XD

Haha True!

The sitting part I can always do, it's the writing that gets hard. But a structured 'pantsing' is much nicer than winging it ^_~ at least for me hehe.

I'm glad it's working for you. I've spent so much time working on mine that I've been pantsing more outlines than stories (although I did manage to finish a couple of books in there, which will get revised when I get up to them again).. One thing I don't want to do is to come out with trilogy and then end up with a special edition of them and re-numbering when I write a prequel. I've finally reached the starting point, when everything changes, and I've pantsed some of it, but I think I need to sit down and outline at least some of it, beyond minor character bios of the antagonists, ad only a vague idea of my protagonists.

Ahhh yeah, that sounds how I usually tackle things.

Now that I've sat down and done and indepth outline of the story; followed by in-depth character analysis, place description and important things (like a drug which is extremely important to the story)outlines... and then I actually sat and did a step by step plot.

It was really hard to not stop the process and just start writing, but now that I stuck to it before I started, I've found it well worth it.

But you sound like you have a plan - to sit down and at least apply a loose outline (who're we kidding, they're really just loose guidelines lol). Let me know how it goes :D

I'm still going to recommend either the msm creme or arnica gel, either of which are easily found (arnica especially), cause, yeah, the last time I did a writing marathon like that, I murdered my wrists. Also! Anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen might help, too. (Tylenol, despite popular belief, is not actually an anti-inflammatory.) If heat helps, there are these nice little adhesive heat packs by ThermaCare that work really well. Storme usually keeps one on his shoulders most of the winter.

YAY YAY YAY for wordcount, and I'm really enjoying what you sent me of the story :)

My experience is that if you take a break after a huge marathon like that, fizzling is pretty likely. But if you keep to a set schedule, it's much easier to keep going with things.

Also, plotting is win. I can pants short work, but novella is about as long as I can go with that, and even then, I usually end up with a basic sketch. Anything novel-length, I neeeeeds my scene-by-scene outline, or I flounder.

Doing the ibuprofen thing... definitely hehe. Hubby is going to look up those cremes and get one today. Arm is hella sore, and very annoying. And yeah those are the little heat pack thing I had wrapped around the wrist most of the night.

The annoyance is that the pain goes into the elbow... not happy about that. So much ground to cover lol

Well I will be in chat at 7pm sharp (ish) every night until I have a day off, where I'll be in longer lol! And I was kind of hoping afterwards I'd use the timeslot to plot the next one and get through revisions.

I'm really glad you're enjoying it. From you, that's high praise *hugs*

Anyhu must work now... urg.
