Ueda will star in the stage play "Toumin suru kuma ni soine shite goran" (Lit: Try to sleep near a hibernant bear). It'll be presented for the 25th anniversary of Theatre Cocoon, Tokyo, in January 09~February 01; then February 07~12 will move to Osaka too.
The original plot is written by Furukawa Hideo (a famous novel writer), direction is by Ninagawa Yukio (very famous director. He has directed stage plays with Kimura Takuya, Matsumoto Jun, Ninomiya, Okada).
Story is about the love and hate relationship between two brothers who are descendants of a legendary bear huntsman. It's a "story of a magnificent bond between brothers". Ueda will act the elite salaryman younger brother, while the older brother role hasn't been announced yet.
For Ueda is the first theatrical stage play since "Romeo And Juliet" in 2009 and first time a KAT-TUN member acts in a Ninagawa's play.
Ueda's comment: "as the day approaches my heart throbs with joy. I'll work with all my might learning from everyone [who'll work in this play]".
Director Ninagawa's comment: "I saw him on TV and his strong personality interested me, I thought I wanted to work with him one day".
General tickets will go on sale from November (so we can suppose JFC will ballot before that date). No prices available yet.
