I really have to question this.

"I'll still be able to break a motherfuckin' table over the back of a couple of faggots and crack it in half"

"You fags are all the same."

"Little gay-looking boy
So gay I can barely say it with a straight face-looking boy
You witnessing massacre like you watching a church gathering taking place-looking boy
'Oy vey, that boy's gay,' that's all they say looking-boy
You take a thumbs up, pat on the back, the way you go from your label every day-looking boy."

The man is 40 years old, there's no excuse for this shit.

Agreed - no excuse at all.

"Hall of the Mountain King" is great! I much prefer that over Eminem, I must say. :-)

Although this is my absolute favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=463jDvbw3LQ The ultimate drama queen! (I actually took the name of my LJ from this piece. And then it stuck...)

Also, thank you for accidentally giving me a new favorite opera singer, Diana Damrau. I had to search for a good YT example of the aria, and found her.

Addendum: if you want the actual music, it starts at 2:10, after some mother-daughter arguing in German. Very dramatic, but not neccessary.

Canada is no better when it comes to the education system - it isn't just the USA but right now that country is such an easy target.

And then there are girls like Malala Yousafzai who are being oppressed by fanatics in so many different other countries just for the right to an education - to learn to read, write...the basic essentials that so many of us - like you and I - take for granted.

I'm not a fan of a lot of what is going on in the States, but it's much much too easy to point fingers at one country and pick and choose what is wrong with it.

i'm at work and didn't really look at all these links, but i am totally weirded out at the whole public masturbation verdict, haha, so strange! and the BDSM thing definitely does deserve to be discussed in regard to twilight and 50 shades.

now i'm laughing at myself because i just said i was at work and the only two links i actually looked at were the ones about BDSM and masturbation. says a lot about me, i guess.

Not ashamed of our sexuality here in Sweden, nope! *lol*

Twilight and 50 Shades just makes me mad... Especially when I see young kids, 11 - 12 years old talking about wanting a boyfriend just like Edward because he is so dreamy. X-/

ugh, i know! he's a really big creep. in real life, people like edward would have restraining orders against them or would already be in jail for stalking. i didn't read 50 shades of grey but someone told me that there's literally a scene where christian gives the girl an actual contract to sign that says she can't shave her legs and shit. that is psychotic, NOT sexy. i just don't even understand why anyone thinks those relationships are healthy in any way.

Oh yeah. And he shows his "playroom" for her on their first date and starts talking about hard and soft limits while in there. It is SUCH a fucked up story, gawd! AND he is WAY worse than Edward! It is a pain to read that damn thing, let me tell you...

And little girls and teens find this romantic.... WTF, I tell you?!?!

oh, and on a totally unrelated note, for those of you who enjoyed the bit about the american education system, that's practically what 50 percent of the rants on my own blog are about - and there's going to be a lot more ranting where that came from.

it's really sad but it's totally true. i don't think i know a single american who LIKES the system as it currently is, but no one with power is challenging it. it also frustrates me that the occupy movement had so much negativity surrounding it, and all the older generations were basically calling it a movement of young lazy freeloaders. my entire generation is being royally screwed over and then being blamed for it. we're "lazy" because we can't find employment or because we work crappy jobs - not because there are major flaws in the system.

It's a bit of a nervous feeling everytime I post something about the US. :-P Because I KNOW there'll be good friends who'll feel hurt becuase they are more patriotic than most. :-P

And that was what struck me the most when I worked in the US for a year. How very very patriotic everyone was! I'd never experienced that level of patriotism before, so it was a bit of a shock, let me tell you.

The lazy-card seems to be played a lot when it comes to the US Health Care system. :-/ That I have this HUGE hate for! I mean, in the US there's some of the best doc's, nurses and hospitals in the world! BUT! It's not available for most of the citizens of the US. That is very fucked up to me as a swede. :-P

yeah, i know what you mean. some people take patriotism to a whole new level here. i'm personally not very patriotic. i think this country used to be great but maybe that's just because i was naive. it's definitely got lots of room for improvement - i really think we ought to take pointers from the scandinavian countries, and places like australia, new zealand, even canada.

health care is a major disappointment here in the US. the education thing affects me more right now because i am a young adult and i'm relatively healthy. and of course our prison system needs hardcore re-evaluation. there are a lot of things i'd like to see improve but not much seems to change when old white guys still hold pretty much all the power. :/

That level of patriotism just don't exist here in Sweden. Hence it was such a shock to me when I lived in the US for that year.

Sweden ain't perfect though. The current government wants to make Sweden into a mini-US when it comes to healthcare. :-/ UGH! Hopefully they'll lose the election next year. :-P We have elections for government every forth year. King has no political power, it's the government that rules. Unfortunately, the current one? Kicking on the poor, and wanting to turn Sweden to something it isn't. At least I know what to vote for next year. :-P
