Aaargh, that really sucks about your car! Why is it they always pick the worst possible time to crap out?! And they are so expensive to fix unless you know somebody, and even then, parts are ridiculously pricey. I'm really sorry that you had to change your travel plans and pay even more. D: Hope that you two have a really nice trip despite it all and have a relaxing visit with family.

Also, yummy pie does make things feel better for a while! :D

Dude, I don't know. I am just like WTH? haven't this been fixed yet? And we've had the car at the mechanics sooooo many times. :-/ And OF COURSE it had to be seriously fucked up when it is getting closer to Nerd Jr joining us... Meh. :-P

But yes. :-) I suspect the trip will be a blast! It usually is a blast to visit my crazy extended family! :-D

Oh do I know this one. I owned a Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster for ONE DAY because of something like this... my goddamned truck decided to shit the entire transmission line the day after I bought it from a friend... Empathies and hugs.

I feel your pain. I'm currently driving around without any air conditioning in what promises to be a record breaking Virginia summer because it would cost more than the car is actually worth to fix. I refuse to dip into my savings to fix it.

Well, at least the car runs even if it is without AC, annoying as it is to lose it. I can understand why you wouldn't want to use your savings for that. :-P

Why can't you guys buy a used car? Would it still be 27K if you got a decent and good used car?

Well... See... There are not many decent used cars that would be better then ours. ;-) We'd have to buy a car worse then this if we'd pay less money. The problem with actually buying a good car from start. Volvo V60 cars are very good models. Rarely have problems. But when a Volvo-car DOES have problem... It unfortunately usually ends up prizy. :-/ So there's that. We'll live though. And push through. :-) We have a tendency to do that. ;-)
