Meanwhile, back in reality...

I want someone to tell me why they think they deserve more rights than me. I want to know what quality you have that makes your ability to love better than mine. I want to see the fine print in the constitution where we all have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness except for the gays. Please don't point to the Bible, because I ( Read more... )

But Leviticus tells me how to properly buy/exchange a bull and serve it for supper! What would I do without Leviticus? (Okay, that's a slight exaggeration...)

I love this post. It is completely raw. Just full of honesty. I'm sorry I can't say more to give the true credit and praise and flails it deserves.

*clings* I love you, every damn day.

What kills me is that no one is going to man up and say anything. It's more shouting at the brick wall, but... if we keep asking why, maybe maybe maybe some of those bricks will begin wondering too? Maybe?

*uncovers yet another unanswered comment that really deserves some great word-flailage*

Well, if the bricks are in Jareth's kingdom, I don't think we'll have any trouble getting those bricks to say something one day. Maybe they're ticklish, or otherwise need some sort of coaxing.

Even Rabbit knew what Prop 8 was. And it's still funny to see him make a blatantly stereotypical gay joke in my midst - then watch him squirm when he tries to mask it. I iz a mean, mean sister.

What we should do is have some sort of Adopt-A-Brick program. Except in place of bricks are ignorant minions of the Establishment, and under our tutelage, they will (if we treat them carefully) become informed and -gasp- helpful. They need less destructive energy.

Couldn't say it better. ::hugs::

There is no good reason to deny two people who love each other marriage. I hope with all my heart that the ball of change is rolling now and much sooner, rather than later, gay, straight, bisexual, whatever, people will realize that love is love, and there's nothing wrong about that in the least.

We can hope. We're allowed to now. *clings, glances up* I really need a more srs bzns "stop oppressing my fluid sexuality" icon.

I learned something new about you today! <3

And you're right. If people are being allowed to express their hate so openly and violently and we are made to tolerate it....why the HELL can't two people express their love? Just because it's not written in a book that can't be backed up by scientific fact? Hello! Stephen King wrote books too...does that mean a car is going to try to kill me? Or perhaps it's the people waving these books in the air and hiding their fear behind it's pages.

Bullshit in my opinion. You just tell it like it is and we'll all continue to love and support you for it.

Thank you *cough* I've, um, been a bit slow and stealthy in coming out with my bi-ness, mostly due to general sheepishness but also because it somehow seems a bit silly at my age. Yeah, I know, I'm weird =D

The roommate and I had an extrememly lengthy conversation about social conservatives, and how we cannot comprehend living with that much fear and anger in our lives. It doesn't make any sense to us. I just want to hold their hands, promise them I'm not going to do vile things to their children, and assure them that it will all be okay.

I'm 32 and I feel extremely silly playing a online game and saying I have a boyfriend. High school kids are suppose to have "boyfriends" not grown women. ...mebbe I am still in high school and this is all a very vivid dream...

I just want to hold their hands, promise them I'm not going to do vile things to their children, and assure them that it will all be okay.Wait. "your kind" doesn't do vile things to children?! WTF! I've lost all faith in reality now ( ... )

Yeah, I'm still replying to this post *snort*

I never really... came out-came out, I did a quick blink-and-you'll-miss-it hint back in October. It was just one of the things I never got around to back in the spring with all the other crap that was happening. My family knows (and my father knew), my best friend knows, and now the internet knows. So... hurrah on all that!

I don't deserve more rights than you or anyone else, and I am horrified that people in California (among others, alas) think I do. WTF, California? WTF???

I think the change is coming, though. I just wish that we'd come a step closer yesterday.

Agreed with you, but I have hope. If nothing else, a Dem president means possibilities w.r.t the Supreme Court. I think the wheel's turning on that count: people who voted Obama in were voting from a more "humanitarian" point of view, letting his race take a back seat to the fact that he's probably one of the best folks for the job.

Go ahead and steal if you like! (Made by zed_pm.) It's a good anti-shipwar icon.
