I want someone to tell me why they think they deserve more rights than me. I want to know what quality you have that makes your ability to love better than mine. I want to see the fine print in the constitution where we all have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness except for the gays. Please don't point to the Bible, because I am agnostic and like shrimp and polycotton blends and I think there was a bit in there about our savior promising us a new convenant. So tell me, in your own words, why I should not be permitted the same rights as you just because I may want to spend the rest of my life with a woman I love.
Still... throughout our history, wherever there has been unjust oppression we have overcome it. It has taken time, too long in many cases, but in the end the principles upon which this country was founded have triumphed over blind fear, hatred, and bigotry. I know it will happen again, it will happen again, I have that faith in America.
Okay, so I'm new at this not-being-completely-straight thing. I've always known-known, on a fundamental level, but it's been less than a year since I came out to myself, so I don't know how much outrage I'm entitled to (I know, "all of it," but I have this complex).
Yeah, part of my inability to sleep last night was me composing this post in my head. ETA: screw it, this post goes public.
