State of the Journal

Sep 08, 2008 09:08

I filter. I filter a LOT. The primary reason for this is to spare a minority of my flist from a majority of my posts, so if you're thinking "Wow, Seda posts a lot less than she used to" it's probably out of an effort to avoid boring you. On the other hand this is after all MY journal and I do have perpetual (un)friending amnesty, so... yes. *shrug ( Read more... )

pointless, this is keri on coffee

Someone who parted ways with me (we had a fight because her bipolar thing was draining me as she was constantly a bitch to me) has now friended me back, has had a baby, and TALKS WITH MICHAEL CUDLITZ REGULARLY.

HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?

NO IDEA but it is... wacky? (And now I'm back to wondering if there's any truth to the rumors of Michael Cudlitz's character on "Life" becoming recurring this season.)

I need more coffee.

I'm about to go out and buy clothes I probably can barely afford. But too bad.

Mmm, clothes-shopping, how I miss it.

*curls up on your lap and goes back to sleep* Regular work schedule starts "officially" today, as all my normal schools (the non-year-round ones) start music this week. So, I shall be much less bored and online during the day...downside, there will most likely be much less writing as well.

*sigh*

I like personal entries, if that helps...

You left a bunch of comms, and I just joined a bunch... Not that I have time to read all the fic in the Tin Man verse - or even the fic of my friends - let along more comms. I dunno what I was thinking...?

Monday's not really begun yet. It's going to be a long day at work... Is it really Monday? Feels like last Thursday all over again.

I tend to avoid the personal entries because they depress me more than I already am *snort* If it helps you can imagine something along the lines of "Wow I am hopelessly broke and ambitionless" at the start of every post? (Actually, wait, stuff actually happened this weekend. I should maybe post about that instead of screencaps of Alan in "Emma".)

The comm-leaving thing... basically "Tin Man" and "Life" killed the bit of my "Doctor Who" squee that had somehow managed to survive the first three seasons of the new series. So I'm slowly weening myself off a decade-and-a-half of fannishness. It's WEIRD.

I am predicting that this week will go by quickly. I have no scientific reason for this, but it is my belief.

Thinking of a couple of strategies:

1) getting a Paid account while the sale's still on;

2) de-watching doctorwho, since most of what's on there is just nonsense. I'll probably keep up with who_daily in that the nonsense on doctorwho generally gets quite effectively filtered and summarized by it, so I can still read the good stuff.

1) It's well worth it and I hope it is still going on when I get my next paycheck, as I think this account is due soon.

2) I stopped watching doctorwho months ago and finally left this weekend. It IS full of ridiculous nonsense and is continuously lampooned on who-anon, which has become my source for all news and squee. I sometimes check on Behind the Sofa because they've taken up reviewing the EDAs again in an amusing and intelligent way.

I like personal entries! I've been so busy lately that I rarely have time to comment on them, but I read everything personal-related on my flist. It's the fic and stuff that I've fallen totally behind on - like, completely and utterly.

I even only skim the Daily, but without it I'd be completely adrift so I keep it around in the off chance I'll have more time for reading links and/or some actual interesting fic will be linked that I want to read.

I will try and be interesting and thus have stuff to post about!

I've just been skimming past the daily for so long now *sigh* I should make some sort of concerted effort to look at it instead of just using it as a placemarker for "Oh, it's a new day."
