And now you have persuaded me that you know everything of any importance ever, I really must read more EDAs. Hurrah for fangirl manifestos!

One of us. One of us. One of us!

It's only fair, I'd never have even gone back to re-evalutae Turlough if not for you. *loves*

Ahh, Five and Eight. Haven't made it to Fitz and Anji yet (still trying to finish Option Lock at the mo) but am very much looking forward to them. And I have never hated Tegan the way so many people seem to--it doesn't help that she doesn't want to be there at the beginning, but it's not like she sits and pouts in the corner the whole time, either.

(And there is a great comparison of Earthshock and Resurrection in an old DWM I've got round the place somewhere--basically pointing out that they're exactly the same episode in terms of structure, just with different baddies and different people leaving/dying. Laughed myself silly when I read it...)

I bow to your dedication to reading everything in order. I had precisely no patience for that, so you win the internets for today! Yay! And yes, Tegan h8 bugs me, but then I've always had a soft spot for bitchy types. And lanky woobie types. And snarky sidekick types. Ahem.

(I really need to get some old DWMs. Like a lot.)

Well, I wasn't originally going to read everything at all. I'd asked for advice on what to do, since the books are so hard to find these days, and managed to find the key titles that were suggested to me as "If you read these in order you should be able to figure out what's going on without much trouble." To be honest, I should have known it wouldn't work, because I'm too damn anal about stuff like this. As of a few weeks ago, I have all the books minus one (Time Zero). Don't even want to think what they've cost me, in total. My brain would explode.

Old DWMs are a hoot. The Sex and the Single Gallifreyan article is still my favorite :)

DAKIN, quoting IRWIN: "Lucid, and up to a point compelling, but if you reached a conclusion, it escaped me." Shit, he never gives an inch, does he?

(Pop quiz, children: Which is sadder?

a] That Eli knew which quote you were referring to
b] That she knows it off by heart
c] Where's my g-ddamn tickybox?!])

Meta is fantastic and wonderful. *snugs you a lot alotalot* *does Eight impersonation whilst listening to The Jam*

Have I mentioned that I adore you recently? Cause I do. :D Ergo, Scrippsy!

[Which also means 'Therefore I have written' in Latin, if Scrippsy is spelt 'scripsi'. But regardless. Look at the pretty Scrippsy icon. He loves j00. He loves everyone, especially inexpensive hookers Jesus Posner. Yes.]

OMG icon twinz! And the answer is C, of course ;)

I knew you would know the quote! And it is desperately appropriate!

(I found the bit of the bartab fic that I wrote last summer. Assuming my week ever gets less busy I am so typing it up, because in light of recent fics my boys need some serious Fluff.)

Thing which will be awesome when the DVDs come out: tHB fanvids. Set to post-punk. Ys.

STOP MAKING MY PANTS ASPLODE WITH DELIGHT, DAMN YOU. *toddler!fists!*

It is, quite. And here is a tickybox just for you:-

[] See? Never say that I don't indulge you. XD

Also, which HB quotes would fit which of the Meta-Discussed Characters? *posners*

I'm inclined to think that Fitz would quote 'It's just one fucking thing after the other!' in regards to history...Anji would probably be fond of 'History is women following behind with the bucket'.

Oh Christ, now I'm imagining Turlough and Anji doing the Lintott & Irwin conversation about nicknames...

ANJI: They haven't given you a nickname yet?

TURLOUGH: No.

ANJI: (blah about 'armorial' nicknames)

TURLOUGH: Fitz doesn't have a nickname.

ANJI: Yes he does. It's 'Fitz'. His real name's Fitzgerald, but the only person I've ever heard address him as such is his somewhat unexpected alien bedfellow.

...you see what you made me do thar?! XD

...Anji and Turlough will one day rule the Universe, I swear. And it will be a universe of AWESOME and good coffee and pouting ginger folk.

And don't make me start drawing parallels between my two fandoms because I will be unable to stop. Lockwood is clearly Eight in disguise. SEE?

I did not realize that Anji was so lambasted by fandom (though, yes, I do fall into the "Oh no, not Dave again" camp because it felt more like a writers' crutch than any sort of character development to me). I mean, she's just awesome. Obviously. And I am probably always going to love Tegan to bits'n'pieces for falling apart in "Four to Doomsday" because when you've just been hurtled into time and space with a guy who changes his body at a whim and now you're finding out that your planet's about to be invaded by giant frogs, who wouldn't try to get the fuck off that ship and warn Earth that they're all in trouble?

Oh yes, and thank you for explaining to me why these two eras really are my favorites. (As for the killer combo of one male and one female companion, you MUST listen to the 7th Doctor audios with Ace and Hex. You MUST.)

To be fair I'm basing that on memories of when I used to read reviews on the OG. They're all like "Anji's boring, blah blah Dave blah blah economy blah blah I wanna go home" and completely overlook the fact that she once called Eight a "useless otterfucker." That wins over everything. And you are entirely and completely correct about Tegan, of course. I have very fond memories of "Four To Doomsday," but then it's been at least a decade since i've seen it. Hrm.

Glad to help! (I need to get over my audio phobia. Like a lot. I'm apparently missing significant amounts of sheer crack.)

"Four to Doomsday" also wins because Five gets to be INCREDIBLY bitchy, and he actually grins. in a sunny and cheerful manner. For possibly one of only three times in his entire incarnation. (He actually laughs in the audios. See why you need to get over your audio phobia? see see see?)

You have know only solidified your status as genius, as well as knowing everything of importance. Fannish manifestos hurrah!

And for the record, bit of a batshit Tegan/Anji defender. And a woobie alien boy defender. As well as snarky companion. Isn't there a twelve-step program this sort of thing? Step one, admit that you have a problem...step six, write down a list of all the people you have annoyed with your obsession...

And that should be "now," not "know." Clearly, my fingers suffer a distinct lack of Typing Skillz.

*quickly sticks pin in own ego, deflates* Thank you, this has been nattering at my brain for a while and yesterday just had to escape.

I hope I never get to step six, because that could, potentially, take A While. A Significant While.
