Being newly single is a rebirth of sorts and a time to get out and experience things you may have put off doing while attached. The excitement does wear off over time, but that's not to say that you aren't meeting some awesome people who will turn out to be long lasting friends. I think you will have lonely times no matter where you go. you seem pretty awesome to me. I bet people enjoy your company.
