Snow...

It may have taken an extra day to arrive, but the snow is here. It looks like we've gotten close to a foot today. Right now I am debating if I want to go out and shovel the driveway for the third time today. I am tired-- shoveled the driveway twice, went to an hour long kickboxing class, plus did some baking today. Still haven't done my cards

I'm planning on buying a snowthrower in the not too distant future. We've had one snowfall of probably 3-4" that endured a few days, that was before Thanksgiving and since then the morning temperature has been fairly consistently > 32f. My problem is that I screwed up a muscle in my chest back in February (costichondritis) probably from shoveling snow, and now that I'm working again, I can't afford the time or risk of further injury from lots of shoveling.

And you have to sample batches to ensure quality control! I totally f*d up my last batch: oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts, it calls for 1.5 cups of chocolate chips and I only had 1 cup of the bittersweet chips that I used. I went to the pantry looking for more, grabbed the nuts, and immediately flushed the need for more chocolate from my mind when I could have easily made up the balance with semi-sweets. They still tasted fine, just not as chocolaty as they should have been.
