Hey fandom geeks,

My panel on transformative fandom has been accepted by GeekGirlCon, but I need a few people to fill it out. We'll be talking about transformative fandom and why we participate in it.

Looking for fans who:
  • Identify as a geek
  • Reasonably sure about being able to attend in Seattle, October 19-20
  • Participate in a majority-female fannish ( Read more... )

If you're having troubble filling out your pannel, I can step in as a bisexual podficer who's been deeply and totally involved in fandom since '97/'98. I will definatly be there. I am a little hesitant to be up in front of so many ppl (some of those pannels last year ended up HUGE, even when they didn't think they would be), but I am happy to be a pitch-hitter or a backup as needed.

Thanks! I'll see how many others I can find; may very well need pinch hitters if some people can't commit to something so far in advance.

Some of the panels were largeish, but I bet they won't put us in one of the bigger rooms. I'm really excited that it got accepted because I feel like there was nothing about fic/slash/associated fannish activities last year and that was an oversight, but because there hasn't been a lot of it before at the con they might not know how much interest there will be. I'm hoping to have a discussion that will be interesting both to transformative fans and people outside our community.
