Shucks, guys. I'm still trying to get to see Super 8 and X-Men: First Class, but watching this new Captain America trailer? Throwing the shield? JAW-DROPPING AWESOME. I gotta go check this out with my dad. When I was reading comics, I used to love talking to my dad about who Cap was and where he came from. (Cap was my dad's favorite superhero...)

While I don't want to watch the new trailer for spoiler reasons (I have seen too much already), I am totally stoked to see Captain America! Cap and Thor were my two must-see movies this summer.

That said, we did take the whole family to see Green Lantern last weekend. I thought it was pretty good, not epic, but not every movie needs to be. Reynolds did well in the role; and I didn't think the CGI was too much (maybe a bit when the smoke octopus big bad comes to earth). I haven't been a GL fanboy, but I would say that he is one of my favorite DC characters. From what I know and have heard of the comics, it seemed pretty faithful. I would easily go see the sequel.

Kelley and I are going to see Super 8 tonight.

I'd like to see X-men: First Class, but I can wait for the DVD if need be. From what I've heard, it was very good.

Re: GL, I also really liked the development of the Hector Hammond character. He was more compelling than the big bad. Peter Sarsgaard did a great job!

Aw, c'mon, dude. I'd just about talked myself out of GL!

I might see it, but I'm definitely gonna try and see First Class first :D

Let me know what you thought of Super 8! Gotta find a babysitter for that STAT!

I can say the oath, too. And have a couple of taped and creased comics from the 60s (aha! #32 The Power Battery Peril)

Just want to say that your dad is so cool. Plus, I got a feeling that thirty years down the road, some comic geek named Oliver will be posting (or what ever they do at that point) similar comments about seeing the latest superhero films with their cool dad.

And I'll guess he'll probably talk about going to see the newly re-edited Star Wars films with his dad.
