"The Dead Are More Reliable Than the Living"

Or, "Dude, whoa." In other words, last night's light-hearted episode of LOST "Everybody Loves Hugo" was all about Hurley. Lighthearted, except for, when people blew up, or got mauled, and...well. You know.

First, if you haven't seen the promo for next week's episode, I cannot encourage you enough to track it down. It seems like the promo department ( Read more... )

I thought it was the best episode of the season, hands down. I loved it!

When Illana pulled an Arzt, I jumped out of the frakking chair and yelled "Holy shit!" I've missed those moments.

And dude! You got part of your answer about Libby! Or, at least, you got to see her in the mental hospital again. Poor Libby. Poor Hurley! And what about Hurley with his sudden case of balls!

I haven't seen the promo for next week. I'll have to check it out.

Also... I loved how Desmond was exactly like Jacob, blowing into the sideways Losties' lives and shaking their hands. And Desmond! Wow! I can't wait for next week.

Indeed. I have still have questions about Libby, but I'll be more than content with what I was given this week.

And yes, Desmond was very Jacob-like this week. I'd call him benevolent, except for that whole running down Locke thing (did NOT see that coming, either). But I guess that also sounds Jacob-like, in its way.

Re Illyana -- My wife and I were discussing how careless she was being by throwing the water bottles into the pack with the dynomite...and then Blamo.

Re Jack -- his little letting go speech almost stole the show as far as character development

Re Hurley and Libby -- every bit was awesome

Re Desmond and UnLocke -- too freaking cool, island and sideways. I'm thinking Desmond ran over Locke for both reasons you mentioned. He probably didn't have to be that extreme in his 'enlightenment' until UnLocke pissed him off by throwing him down the well. I think there is a connection, but no matter what, the juxtaposition of those two scenes was very effective.

Re Micheal -- meh

Re Gene Wilder promo -- way cool

Agreed on pretty much everything.

io9 has a review with the headline "We'll Judge Lost by How it Treats Desmond and Hurley." Which I agree with, although the children's future is important to me as well.

If Locke gets put in an MRI machine, he'll have reactions the way Desmond did. And then he'll wake up and see Jack. And then...?

I hear that the promo was actually ganked from a song...will have to do some research on that, but really just need to grab the promo!

I really liked this one, but I wish Desmond going down the well and Iliana blowing up hadn't been so telegraphed. But Desmond running down Locke? Dude! Mind you, he should have backed over him for good measure if he was trying to kill him.
