SchoolIn preparation for school starting tomorrow I am going through last year's notes and throwing out the inches of paper I had of notes, papers and crap I needed to know. I find it mildly disgusting. However, I am about to start on the EASIEST semester of my degree. How you may ask? Well, I am changing my degree slightly. Instead of doing the ( Read more... )

Seems like a good move on the degree switch. Going back to upgrade it is always a possibility, if necessary for some reason. AND if you don't stay in government we all know the best job perks come with teaching!

The one down side if I do become a teacher: apparently the "honours" designation = more money. However, I have heard if you have enough courses in your area you can get the same pay. Being a teacher is confusing. :P

It may have the best perks but it is one of the most emotionally taxing jobs I can think of. It's not easy and while it can be rewarding, you guys are a tough breed. :)

I kept thinking about it and couldn't come up with a GOOD reason not to do it.

In the Toronto board you wouldn't get more money. Even PhD's get the same, I think. But it's easy enough to get to top dollar - you just have to take a course (I did mine online) specializing in teaching a specific subject. Being a teacher IS confusing. Well, I guess navigating the administrative aspects of teaching is the confusing part.

Thanks for the compliment, but right now I'm playing on the internet while my students work... da perkz is good.

Government has the same sort of administrative nightmares but when you have to standardize things on that scale itt sort of has to be.

The semester has just started though. How is the semester looking?

Oh...will be in Toronto oct 7th until the 10th with Phil for x japan. I need to see you. Neeeeed to see you. We haven't figured out where we are going to stay yet but you going to be in town?

My favorite part of Sketchbook pro - the gesture shortcuts. Three finger swipe down to bring up the brush/colour menu, three finger swipe up to bring up the layers menu, Double tap top right corner to full screen the image, double tap bottom left to undo, bottom right to redo. Top left clears the canvas. It becomes second nature and really speeds up using the app.

Speaking of apps, I have a recommendation: If you're a big RSS reader, I can't recommend "pulse" enough. Its only downfall however, is that you can't view video within the app - you have to launch Safari. But I use it mostly for news and article reading anyway. And the developers are sweethearts.

I watched their demonstration video before buying it and thhe shortcuts were a big seller for me.

I should set up an rss feed. I don't know why I haven't because I read too many things separately. I will look into it.

I am also impressed with the new Twitter for iPad. At first i didn't think I would like it but now I have warmed to it.
