1. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

I've loved this book since I was a little girl. I loved that Meg and Calvin and Charles Wallace were not perfect characters, that they were flawed and messy but still lovable; I loved that Mrs. Whatsit & Co. were scruffy, battered angels of God; I loved the seamless blend of fantasy and reality and science. let me just say that a wrinkle in time was the best book EVER and i even liked the sequel, but i read the original so many times that the cover completely ripped off haha.
