Originally, it was only going to be British tabloids. But there were too many fun opportunities (like the Madonna/A-Rod one) to pass up.

I don't think my fic is responsible but it did damper the mood for awhile. Andy's real-life success or failure really means nothing to the story (because it's all Roger's fault - hee).

Ah, how much fun creating fake press is. After all, it's almost the same as real press anyway. XD Priceless headlines.
Oh, that's a really good take on the Wimbledeon results, Kris- it fits so well with the fic and yet there's very little that's actually changed- quite a feat. *Appluase*
I'm not sure if I can explain how much I love the whole of the last scene with Roger and Marat. (Not the least of which is the expertise on rages and the hint of UST, maybe, with Marat, or something, and Roger finally understanding. Well, not exactly.)

Originally, the fake press was only supposed to be the British - the "rogering" line is so them - then had some fun with exposition (Spain would of course ask Rafa, who of course only cares in the Andy-is-his-challenger way; I don't know how the Russian press is but must include Marat in one headline) and the laying-right-there lame American joke.

The only issue I kept having with the Wimbledon result was that my least favorite player became a finalist (who'd get his ass handed to him on a platter by Rafa, of course).

Like I said in the beginning of this chapter, that scene had to be. The whole idea for this story was to get a Roger who'd get to the point of a sudden rage. Of course it must be Marat and that he'd emit sexual tension even in this situation, where he doesn't quite mean to do it.
