And here I thought I'd gotten through Sunday with minimal hatred

I am, in fact, the kind of person who despises professional sports in their current form, and the Super Bowl in particular. However, most of the time I keep a lid on it in order to be civil. Yesterday was reasonably nice, and I was blissfully working on other things without being forced to think about overpaid 'roid-head modern gladiators ( Read more... )

It was sunny and clear here. Of course, I spent the day hunched over my desk. ^^;;

It's a totally cheap shot, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take it.

I endorse the "choose a line" concept. Especially if we do that after the 16th/21st century Choose A Line. People in both the FOOBAWW and fucking lines who also were in the 21st century lines sound like fun.

It sometimes startles me how many conversations on my gaming habits can be ended by simply comparing myself to a football fan.

"You go to a convention for games? ... Why?"

"You go to football games, right?"

"Yeah."

"It's like that, but with less stupid."

Ok, so perhaps those discussions were being ended for other reasons.

"Edited To Add." It's a point of LJ-etiquette that I've chosen to adopt, instead of silently adding or changing things in the post.

Another point of blog etiquette that I like is that when you make a post that's primarily linkage, quoting, or excerpts, that you add a little hyperlink at the end that's just "via" or "h/t" (hat tip) that points to the person that you found the material through.

The via/ht habit, though, is more important outside of Livejournal, in contexts where linking to people - and their linking to you - materially affects people's traffic, search standings, and visibility.

One of my exes was very fond of Blood Bowl, which was kind of amusing in this way.
