And here I thought I'd gotten through Sunday with minimal hatred

I am, in fact, the kind of person who despises professional sports in their current form, and the Super Bowl in particular. However, most of the time I keep a lid on it in order to be civil. Yesterday was reasonably nice, and I was blissfully working on other things without being forced to think about overpaid 'roid-head modern gladiators stumbling around the gridiron to generate broadcast revenue.

This morning brought a reminder that I'm a freak for doing so. It's not a terrible article, but it has this wide-eyed, breathless, condescending surprise. Holy shit! says the author. There are people who care about something else more than they care about the Super Bowl! And such wackos live among us!

Nathan Halverson, if I could FedEx you a clue or a slap in the face, I would.

ETA: In comments, pope_guilty points out that Halverson also bungles the math involved.

cynical, patriarchy-blaming, whiny, media diet
