My attempts to strip the 20-year-old gloss paint from the doorways to the bathroom/loo/laundry have failed miserably. I am going to have to replace the wood. It was bulky anyway, all bits and pieces. Not that I can afford to do this at present but it was fun ripping the wood out this morning

Sorry to hear things are so blah, though destroying doors no doubt has its compensations in cathartic release points or something. One of my potential freelance jobs fell through, but another is hovering on the horizon so maybe it won't be so bad.

Did you see the post where I used some of Ian's drawings? :-)

Just went and looked at the post. The horror illo is one of Gunny's I have not seen before. I must order the CD, after pay day in a couple of days.

Of course I went and looked. Destroying door frames was wonderful fun and it does look better to me and gives me a chance to do some more sanding down - lucky me. Pooh to the job falling through. I'm starting to get a little concerned abou the financial world out there, I've not been unemployed in a recession before...

It's hot too. Is it worth trying to get casual work at a Uni or public library? You could send them your resume. Might be nights or weekends, but perhaps?

The library jobs that have been advertised all seem to be evenings and weekends. I am just being lazy in not sending my resume to places. The heat does make me tired.
