my tummy has been sore today. :p also, last night, I got no sleep. I'm not exaggerating; I didn't fall asleep until 9 AM. wtf? good thing is, since I hardly slept, I'm pretty tired tonight, so here's hoping I sleep better.

got to spend some good time with mum today. we went to target for the sole purpose of buying "the animation show," but when ( Read more... )

From year 1, I am partial to Cathedral by Tomek Baginski, La Course a l'abime by Georges Schwizgebel, and the Brother/Cousin/Uncle Trio as well (so so so beautiful). From year 2, I am in love with Pan With Us zby David Russo (Alexa met him and said he was an asshole though), Fireworks by Pez, The Man With No Shadow by Georges Schwizgebel, and Hello by Jonathan Nix. Actually, I just love them all really, but I can't wait because I am going tonight!!!
I'm excited that you like them too (though I suppose that's pretty natural).

based on the interview he had in the booklet that came with the DVDs, I kinda figured that david russo was an asshole. is he from seattle? the credits to that film threw me off. admittedly, I didn't understand "pan with us," maybe because I didn't listen very closely to the poem.
I think "hello" is my favorite from year 2. but I liked "fallen art," too. and PES is a wonderful, genius animator. when I watched his commentary for "kaboom" (a bonus film on the DVD), he had so many interesting things to say- what the objects represent as well as what they're actually supposed to be, and things of the like. fascinating. he has a great film in this year's show.
I'll be interested to know what you think of year 3!

Also, have you checked out the Pes website??? There's a whole bunch more on there that are great including chair sex (very very funny!).

chair sex is pretty amusing, I have it on a spike & mike DVD. I want to look at his website but my internet is soooo slow! I wish I could watch videos, like normal people.

In my Writing for the Short Film class, our prof showed us one'a Plympton's things called "Guard Dog". His stuff is so bizarre. xD

Um. Speaking of animation... I don't know if you've seen this crazy bit that's been floating around You Tube...

that's a great film. it also appears on year 2 of the show!

I haven't seen really anything on you tube since I was at LMU... dial-up makes me weep bitter tears. ;_;
