i have a 4-week summer programme in compiegne and troyes. a two-day paris excursion is included in the itinerary. is that enough, or should i go back for another visit after the programme is over?

DEFINITELY go back. I spent an entire year in Paris, and it still isn't enough, so spend as much time there as you can.
