Hi there, one of the them is on the blacklist because I've never heard back from them. The other one has been updating me on her progress, so I've given her a slight extension. If you would like to negotiate a deadline with her, message her privately and let her know?
it was awesome helping you out with this and i'd be glad to help out again next year if you plan on doing this again. thanks so much for all the work you put in and for helping organize us. this was awesome and fun to do. :D
No, thank you for helping me out. I've actually been thinking about handing this exchange over to someone else next year, so let me know if you're interested in taking over :P
Hi there! The participant in question has been updating me on her progress, so I've decided to give her a slight extension. If you'd like to get in touch with her and negotiate a deadline, please message her privately.
Thanks for holding the challenge! I do have a small suggestion for future rounds, and that's to implement a minimum fic requirement for participation. It seems to me that over half of the people on the blacklist are socks, which means that the consequence of being blacklisted for them is minimal. What's to keep them from making another sock for next year, only to do the same and not complete any fills for their recipients? I even find the act of signing up for this exchange with a sock a bit premeditated, like they're preparing for not meeting the deadline even before they've started claiming prompts.
I think you have a valid point and this is something we could think about adding for next year. As a mod, the challenge for this exchange is, as always, getting enough people to participate and, more importantly, getting people to write. Part of that, of course, is making the challenge accessible to everyone. Maybe some people feel more comfortable writing under a sock or don't have an lj account, or they're simply new to fandom. If I implement a minimum fic requirement, I would be alienating the people who would be able to write for the exchange, and we'd end up with a smaller turnout or fills per participant ratio
( ... )
This was my first time participating in anything like this and I enjoyed both giving and receiving very much! Thank you for making this awesome event, I hope there will be more like it! <3
