What's Glasware?

My dad found an old square dish my late grandma left behind. It's stamped "Glasware" and is a translucent white color with a painted pattern on the side. I remember her using it for baking sweet rice desserts (the dish is about 8" per side ( Read more... )

Hmm. I do think it's a brand name, but of a now-defunct company called McKee.

I'm thinking it's an actual brand name. Further digging (via Yahoo!) finds a former company called McKee which made a line of glass products called Glasware.

But what *is* it made out of? I don't want to bake stuff if it's going to leach lead on me or something, though I suppose if Grandma used it for years we've already washed out whatever can be washed out. ;)
