news every.

News:
Last week was the first week of cold weather in central Japan so... They were talking about the cold rainy weather in Tokyo and asked Koyama if he was doing anything to help keep himself from catching a cold. He commented that it had been really cold in the morning he took a bath, drank yuzu tea and wore a sweater out for the day to help stay warm.

Fujii then commented that he had seen Koyama wearing a face mask (cough mask) and was worried Koyama had a cold, but Koyama was actually wearing that to help prevent himself from getting sick!

Later there was a news clip about the Japanese baseball draft and Koyama was really excited that maybe next season Saito Yuki and Tanaka Masahiro will play against eat other again.

Ganbaranai:
The theme was strokes (cerebral hemorrhage). It's apparently the third highest cause of death for Japanese. After sharing some statistics about it, they mentioned there were ways to help prevent strokes through your eating habits. Cue VTR of Dr. Kamata going on a tour to hot springs with some people who have suffered from handicaps due to their strokes.

1. Eat more fish
2. Eat ginger, peppers, onions and wasabi
3. To prevent aging of your blood vessels eat mushrooms, veggies or kantan
4. To keep your blood sugar levels calm eat natto, okura, moroheiya (sticky foods)
5. Eat less salty foods

Kininaru:
Koyama visits and middle/high school in south Saitama Prefecture that has an amazingly popular school cafeteria... because everything is made by hand! The cafeteria makes as much as it can itself, and other things are gathered locally and kept healthy.

After visiting their walk in fridge, Koyama went to a local farm that sells directly to the school for cheap. He also got to try their "traditional Japanese" lunch set .

The cafeteria makes it's own bread which parents come to buy sometimes too. Lunch prices are around 400-500 yen which is a little pricey for students but the parents agree it's worth the price for safe, delicious and healthy food.
