haha, that's basically why I use twitter at all also; sometimes i just want to jot down a sentence or funny thought/observation before it flies out of my head, or it's just not worth an entire LJ entry. That and it's a nice way to keep track of my friends across the country from me and how they're doing. People don't really make LJ entries that often really, so random 'look at this cute cat photo!!' or 'still waiting in line for the restaurant!' are good for a 'I'm still alive!!' at the very least.
