Interesting Mormon Glee Commentary. Really.

So I was googling around for Klaine, as you do, and found this: "‘Shipping Klaine? What Mormons think about Glee." The title immediately struck me as an interesting paradox-- a Mormon commentary on a Mormon site that is familiar with the term "shipping" and the use of a portmanteau for a ship? You know that odd serendipity of a concept or issue coming up in your life all over the place all of a sudden. It's been happening with me and Mormonism lately. First I started reading "Under the Banner of Heaven", then I had a brief encounter with a graduate of Brigham Young U at work, and now this. Given that my first real foray into thinking about Mormonism came from the book, it's nice to have your experience to reign in my assumptions and impressions.

I think it's, like every other religion, a difference between the institution and the actual people who make up the congregation. It's always a good thing to remember, you know? For me, too.

My dad always says that the individual Mormons he knows (big population in Montana) are the nicest sweetest, most wonderful people you will ever meet, and the Church as a whole is CRAZEE. It's an interesting dichotomy.
