kcobweb pointed out the crying to me, and then I couldn't stop seeing how much of it they did. I liked the stuff too. You could tell a lot of the missteps were just folks getting their feet under them, and not total cluelessness.
I like Daniel a lot, but I definitely think Korto's stuff was better. His restaurant dress looked like she had a kid's floatie strapped around her chest.
Daniel's stuff was icky! megastoat, elklad, and I just didn't get it at all, with the exception of the red carpet dress. Totally agree that Korto was robbed.
The S6 episode was a blur. I was so busy trying to get a decent look at the clothes, that I barely noticed the crying. I think it would have been fun to watch Ari in future episodes, but her creation was ridiculous. And Christopher's dress was cute and nifty, so yay.
And, OMG, how I have missed Tim Gunn! Plus, with the return of the show, I am realizing I like Nina more than I thought.
It would have been really easy to keep Ari for the drama factor, and I'm really kind of surprised they didn't. of course, between her and Mitchell, it would have been pretty unfair to auf him for something that really wasn't his fault.
If she had just made a long skirt to go with that soccer-ball disco top, they would have had enough ground to keep her around, and maybe would have dropped someone else for not being "innovative," since that was supposed to be a focus. But, as it was, she didn't make any kind of gesture to adjust her aesthetic for the red carpet, so it's just as well she's gone now.

Korto was robbed, and she knew it. Damn. I really love her stuff, and that restaurant dress was frickin' awesome.
