Really awkward day at the movies..

Jul 20, 2010 18:23

So, I'm gonna start this post by saying I decided to play hookie from work today on the grounds that, I got about.... 1 full hour of sleep last night and was a raving bitch this morning. Instead of spending my day sleeping however, a friend of mine decided to cash in her movie chip since she was nice enough to sit through A-Team with me when no one ( Read more... )

LoL

I based the fun I had watching these movies on two things.
1) every time I go something weird happens to me or I injure m¥self. Thus forever remembering the movie itself.

2) the eye candy that is the half nekkid tanned people.

For shame Missy playing hooky! I remember drinking a texas size blue i before watching xmen origins. The Super hearing that came while watching the movie wasn't so awesome.

Yay for Dehumanized!

Yeah, in the books the wolves were the only thing that kept some parts interesting for me. Why? Cause they were the only ones who acted like normal teenagers/young adults. In the movies, gotta love the half naked tanned booty. Except Taylor because for me that feels way, way wrong. I watched that kid grow up through movies so he will forever be jail bait in my mind.

Yeah, Dehumanized....I'm working on it but they haven't been cooperating for a long time. >.>

I loathe the Team Edward/Jacob question. I've had three different people (two of them ADULTS!) assume that because I have a wolf tattoo, I must be Team Jacob. My response is usually 'No, actually, I'm Team ICouldCareLess' which usually ends the conversation, if a bit awkwardly. Wolf =/= Jacob.

I dislike the whole series for the same reasons you do, I think. The author and the content. Edward is not not not the perfect boyfriend.

Read the entire series, wouldn't do it again. My friends are in to it and I go and see the movies with them just to have a fun girls night... but I don't think he writing is anything impressive.

LOL yes, go team Corbin Fisher!

You're a better person than me. I do find people to be lesser or mentally deficient in some way for liking the books. Just everything I've encountered (not just online and by haters) about fans has left me shaking my head in both wonder and terror. One of my coworkers is actually one who OMFGLUVVVS Twilight. Even took personal time so she could go see Eclipse. Because I'd always pictured the fans as batshit (or, thanks to ONTD, as fat, white, and awkward), the fact that my coworker was a grown ass, straight up hood, black woman broke my brain. And when I told her I wasn't a fan (but gently because she wasn't crazy) she just laughed and apologized for talking my head. Then we moved on. Why can't all fans (not just of Twilight, but in any fandom) be like that?

Completely unrelated: what'd you think of A-Team? ^_^

I tend to get a lot of screaming 14 year olds at my ranch that are 'wrelly, wrelly' in love with Edward but now prolonged exposure to it just makes me shake my head and tell them to get on the damn horse already. I've even had a few bring books to the stables, normally I don't mind if they're in a large group because some of them have to sit out and wait their turn because we only have a certain number of horses, but most of the time I try to get them to read something else (like the basics for horsemanship and what not)

We also have a Twi-Mom on our ranch, she's one of the blue people like me but she's pretty sane (well, about as sane as an old, ex-hippie turned rancher can be lol), she won't leave her husband for Edward and knows the series is full of subtext but enjoys the series. As she put it, Twilight is nothing more then a teenager's version of a curvy woman with big ol' titties XD

AND, I had fun watching A-Team. Sharlto was the perfect Murdock and I've been reading Ot4 slash like there's no tomorrow ^_^
