There goes my dreams again, materializing in materialism, leading me in diamond studded circles to infamy where I'll dwell in my sparkling hell of self-deluded happiness, captured in gold shacks big enough for me to fall through but tight enough in bonds for me to stay and stay//razor think/thin cuts up and down my arms from credit cards and nasty billers/happiness is only a swipe away
Insta-poem~! (That should be the title)
Well my "dream" phone - man I don't like this "dream" nonsense, how about "phone I really would like to have"? Yeah, that's better.
The phone that I really would like to have - and I'm putting it here so I don't go out and just buy a brand new phone when I still have more than a year and a half with this one (wait, do I? Lessee, I got this phone innnnnnnnnn...January, yes I did. It's about to be May and that's the fifth month so I'd say a year and a half more with this phone) - is this one:
- Front side camera (prolly gonna start coming out by the payload now that Apple's doing it for their next phone)
- slider keyboard (I just can't use a virtual one, it annoys me too much because it takes up half the screen and I like using things like apostrophes without having to go somewhere special)
- can't be bulky (That's the problem with my Tilt 2, bulky as cain, I'm tellin' you. The new phone can't be bulky with a case either)
- gotta be able to show other languages besides English (Tilt 2, HTC and AT&T sucks for this - well, AT&T just plain sucks overall - I need a world phone to act like a world phone, not an American phone). I need to type and read in Chinee, Japanese, French and only god knows whatever else language I wind up picking up along the way. Korean? Indonesian?
- Apps, man. The microsoft apps store sucks so bad right now. No iHeart Radio, no 8-Bit Rebellion (sadly they'll prolly overlook Windows Mobile when LP get the game to other phone platforms, everyone else does)
- I do quite like the look and use of a stylus tho I barely use it. I also like using my phone with gloves and such on. Apple doesn't understand that quite yet.
- Gotta be able to use the net and be able to make a call at the same time (I was shocked when I found out iPhones couldn't do this. Alors!)*
- Cell phone charms holder (If you know me personally, then you've seen my phone. I have a growing collection of charms big and small)
- Notetaker and Microsoft word preferably (I'm a poet, a writer and a student - I have typed papers on the bus before, ditto with poems and stories, and completed them on my laptop. Pretty important)
- Send pics and vids* via text
- Little to no bloatware (I'm looking at you, Microsoft)
- Gotta have a customizable interface. (Looking at you again, Microsoft, I like mixing and switching and deleting as I please)
- I don't want to be restricted to a particular service like iTunes (iPhone apparently doesn't like miChoice)
- Can use my bluetooth with it (but that should go without saying)
- A place for my headphones jack. My phone still uses a dongle, man. A dongle.
To justify an early phone purchase (tho I may buy a phone in Japan, who knows) It would have to have all these components and a decent operating system. I don't like Apple for many reasons but one is that it seems if you try to use anyone that's non-Apple, they jab you with a fork. Microsoft better pull a strong comeback with Windows Phone 7 because Windows 6.5 is getting on my nerves. Meh, I may go with the Android, seems to be everyone's second choice to iPhone. The only 'Droid phone AT&T has is just the Motorola Backflip but like I said, no listee, no buyee.
*does research on Android* Yeppers, Android. I can use Word docs on it and even modify them, there's better and more extensive apps, the phone seems not to be created by idiots. I wanna let time pass tho before I jump out there and get a brand new phone I'll hate. If it is the wonderful and useful phone that I am imagining in my head this is my henious list for them that their phones must have:
- Front facing camera
- slider
- read and type in different languages
- place for cell phone charms
- case (for deco purposes)
- can't be bulky
- world phone
That's about it. Hopefully not too hard for them. Also I looked up the issue with Front Facing Cameras. US providers didn't want them because they were worried it would kill their networks. My phone was supposed to have one but it got knocked off thanks to those losers. 3G would die under it apparently because it already is stressed enough but they plan on
rolling it out on 4G in 2011. That's all spifftacular and everything because I want video chat dangit! That means I better hold on to my phone for a while and see what happens this summer and next year because there's no point in changing mid plan for a worser phone. Windows Phone 7 looks like it's going to suck by my standards and Android seems to really be getting expansive and nicer. I'll lay in wait and start saving up some money and keep watching. And AT&T better not jack up my bill over this, they already are rolling enough dough.
And this is my wacked out thought process.
* iPhone can't do this?! OMG! Just when you thought that if God had a phone, it would be the iPhone....newp.
