On the roll!

I have got to got on the ball and make my punk music (&reading) post. I shall soon, it's just my laziness working against me. The bands and books I will be hyping:

- The Objex
- Pessimist Parade
- Dance of Days: The history of punk in DC

Okies!

I sent in my proposal (again) to the ppl of AfroPunk to answer their "Bloggers wanted" ad. They have a small staff so it may be a sec before I hear back from them. I do hope I get it, it would be so cool! I really just plan on writing from a Black Pagan perspective but I don't wanna fill the whole thing with "Baaaawwww, Christians!" since that's not something I myself would like to read. Christians, if your non-Christian or simply living in a Christian-dominated country like America, are a super easy pot-shot and too many of them make me wonder about the writer. I don't have much of an issue of the fundmental ideas of Christianity, just the stupid people that call them Christian (which ain't all of them, just the stupid ones). I will be discussing Black and White Christians because they get their panties in a bunch in different ways towards the same things because the cultures that ground them are different. Mew.

I do want to cover inter and intraracial issues that extend more than just the Black & white spectrum because there's more to it than just us. There's Asians and Latinos and more. That means I'll be referring to the nonsense that's going on at South Philly High. This time Blacks are the instigators of racism towards Asian (who, by my counts, has done nothing historically to us. Whites I can understand (but don't always condone) because it's reactive usually to the long instances of hatred towards Blacks but this however makes Blacks no better than White in racism.) To be honest, I don't even count them as Black - they're n---er/as by my standards. Uncle Tom's kids. They're beneath Blacks and they are who we were when we were in shackles. In other words, these racist kids are a disgrace to the Black race, like we could use more weights. - I felt like sayin that, back to the topic. I really would like to put down a bit of perspective of what it means to be Black and to interact woth the world, whether good or bad and whether the Black was alt-culture or not. We try to exist in a world all on our own but we do interact with other races and they do perceive us in a particular way, just as we perceive them in a particular way. I think it would be nice to shed the best light that I can.

I, just like here, will showcase occasionally books, music and other art forms. Hopefully I won't be lacking along with music posts like I do here but I do want to showcase new sounds and such with my blog section. I think I can do that, I'm not cookie-cutter Pagan, cookie-cutter Black, cookie-cutter much of anything. I may be a chatty batty girl but I do try to say something worthwhile. I just want my blog to be fun and informative. Since I am actively running down the AfroPunk people about this and my second pitch feels tight, I just may get it. This will be fun, another public writing opportunity. I already wrote for Sucrerie Magazine, a lolita mag, I will really enjoy AfroPunk.

I really would like to see a Black Pagan blog of some sort on AfroPunk but it seems there won't be any for a hot minute, I may as well as do one myself. I'm pretty knowledgable, right? I mean, I've got no deaths under my belt and I even helped people improve their lives - but I will say this with certainty, there ain't ever gonna be no "If you're a Sagittarius...." That crap is annoying in real life, virtual life and nothing screams "gimmicky" more than that. I don't mind taking astrology/psychology questions (if they're good) but that whole "Watch your beans, Cancerians! The moon is waxing, so..." I find to be complete and utter nonsense and I'll be having none of that there. As a matter of fact that will be a post by itself should I get the blog because I do expect that if I don't explain myself, others will try to explain me for me. I try to be a good person, a nice person but I will put someone in their place if I have to. To avoid all that, I may as well explain myself the best I can and what they will and won't expect.

This blog of mine will stay up obviously (ain't really like I got fans tho or something like providing a constant carousel of info like Angry Asian Man) as I can't just fly off the handle with whatever there and this has been my spot for half a decade now, I won't be up and moving just like that. It's cozy here. I just wake up, terrorize my cat, go to school or work, think up something to say and post away either on my phone or on my lappytop. Le mew. (and I can be as random as I wanna)

I really hope I get to blog for AfroPunk. I said I'd do assignment too. If I have to go out into the field, I really will make a mini fedora with a lil' "Press pass" stuck in it, carry around a notepad and paper with camera and a reporter lolita outfit. ^.^ That and use my "I blog for AfroPunk"ness to meet Janelle Monae. >.>...teh sneakeh. (She had better be at Afro Punk or I shall be sad...and up to absolute mayhem)

NOTA BENE: Angry Asian Man has moved his spot! It is now blog.angryasianman.com. Or you could just click here.

books, nonsense, music, note to self
