Blood Ties episode 107: Heart of Ice [reposted]

Apr 20, 2007 07:51

Last week's episode of Blood Ties despite the Hotness of Henry was kind of lame. This week's episode was very good. The only problem is that it has only further fanned the flames of my dislike for Big Haired Mike. I am never going to forgive him. Seriously.

In Heart of Ice, homeless people are going missing and Vicki's case is sought. When ( Read more... )

Vicki and Henry looking rather like Brennan and Booth except that Vicki has a flame thrower

i was thinking more Mulder & scully

it was once said that all you needed for a x-files ep was 2 flash lites and a dark alley

*laugh* I only said Brennan and Booth because I'm a huge Bones fan and the image mirrored something from the opening credits of Bones here :D

Well, I think Mike looks good enough to eat, so I'm fine if you want to waste all your oohs and aahs on the pretty boy. ;-)

When he finds out that Vicki allowed him to feed off her, he's angry and worried - maybe a little bit jealous, too.

If I found out that someone I loved (and Mike does love Vicki) was being fed on by a vampire, I'd be angry and worried, too. And scared and desperate and more than a little bit revolted (even though I find vampires fascinating, in general, the thought of drinking blood is disgusting). Jealousy wouldn't even be in the top ten emotional reactions.

*laugh* *gives you Mike plus three months' supply of hair product* Shoudl last him a week! :D

Ordinarily vampires with their annoyingly indecisive UnDeadliness annoy me endlessly but I like Henry. Ordinarily I love the tough cops with the heart of gold, slightly jaded and cynical but the problem I find with Mike is that while the character might be ok, I'm not so sold by the actor who plays him. I'm not that convinced by his acting so while a lot of emotions should be conveyed like anger/dread/fear/worry - it often comes across as sulkiness or simple jealousy. Also I find the largeness of his hair very distracting :D

Henry is much prettier than I usually like, but he looks a bit like James D'Arcy and I adore him :D

Well, at least Mike washes his hair. Sometimes with Henry, I'm not so sure. ;-)

OMG you don't like Mike either? I thought I would be the only one :P

Great recap! I haven't seen the whole ep, but I can't wait now!

I've decided I don't mind the character so much, I just don't like the actor who plays Mike!

I hope you enjoy the episode. It's really good but the ending is agonising :P

"Mike is outraged Henry that remains his composure, prettiness and Good Hair under pressure."

I AM DYING, HERE!!

And only a little less completely hysterical-"Muaha we meet again," Julian Sands says. That's some good stuff. And last but certainly not least-the bit about them being all plotty and evil.

I enjoyed the episode, but this even better.

*laugh* Thanks. I really enjoyed the episode, too, I just couldn't believe they had Julian saying 'We meet again!' :D One day I seriously want to say that to someone in an overly dramatic voice ;)

I wonder if it wasn't Delphine who killed those women in the photographs, as well as the girl who got Mike onto the case to begin with. I kind of got the idea that she might have been keeping track on Henry - or how could she have revealed knowledge that helped Spanish inquisition dude Mendoza find him? Maybe that's what Henry meant; he is in a way responsible for all those deaths, because he was the one who turned Delphine.

She finally persuades him. I adore the way she reaches out and touches him like this. It seems very intimate without actually being intimate.

Henry's always physically, casually intimate with her - reaching out, caressing her. It's the first time I think that Vicki has reciprocated. I see it as she's starting to learn how to gently manipulate him.

Wow that's such a fabulous theory and it makes a lot of sense to me because Delphine seemed in no way cut up about the fact that Julian Sands (I can't remember his character's name :) was going to go after Henry next. As to responsibility, it's interesting if Henry feels that way. It's a bit Michael Scofield of him ie. feeling culpable for every death caused by the loathesome T-Bag.

That's exactly it. He often touches her but I notice that when she touches him, he's almost disarmed and helpless. Gah. *melts*

When I first heard the name "Delphine" I totally got it confused with "Sandrine", the ex from episode 3. So I was all: "Huh? Didn't she get turned into a zombie? Back in the 1920s?"

I'm curious as to whether she's going to survive, and whether she will get to see Henry. Presumably Mendoza is going to take Henry back to the same place he's keeping Delphine, so the two vampires will probably meet. Something else to look forward to.

Except that Michael's conscience like is a granite weight compared to Henry's uneven pumice. :)

Makes me want to hug him. Very carefully, mind. Like one would pet a lion cub.

Oh I think you're not the only one who thought that. Clearly Henry has a thing for girls whose names end in '-ine' :D

Bwahahaha, yes that is true. Henry seems quite amoral in a charming kind of way.

He's so slender I'd be afraid I'd break him ;)
