I'll keep it brief. I enjoyed this episode a lot. A lot of the story focussed on Kanemura Shunta who is just so cute and adorable that I spent the whole time going: "Ohhhhhh" :) ( Read brief comments on Episode 4 of Engine )
I'm glad you did get out to see it and also glad that you enjoyed it.
It does seem strange that they were conspiring in a huge open room but was it a setup? Or did they know Nicole would be forced to come back for the bag after the bomb scare? So was it setup for her, knowing that she had a strange past and might not be believed? I suppose they didn't just want anyone overhearing...
I hadn't thought it was a setup but you have now got me thinking.
Also I agree with you - Dot was awfully familar to me as well. Ahh she was in Being John Malkovich... I have seen that.

Well I think it was a set up because at the end they talk about how an "almost assassinated leader" gets credibility and the assassination plot was all set up by Zowanie's chief of security to try to get Zowanie some sympathy and credibility.
The thing is, it makes sense to me that if they wanted to be overheard - yes do it in the main hall. But why speak Ku? A language that almost no one outside of Africa understands? I'm going to go and buy the dvd today or tomorrow. Who was Dot in Being John Malkovich. I typed Beijing John Malkovich the first time .....
Oh yeah I suppose I knew that was a set up, the security guard set it up but I suppose I hadn't tied the set up in with Nic overhearing it.
Well she was probably set up as well, they knew she spoke ku, she often left things in the security booth, and she had a suspicious past that would throw red herrings to the protection agency so they would not know whom to trust.
