Flyby post ...

World Trade Center was a good movie - very sad but also very inspirational. To be honest, although the stories of Port Authority policemen John McLoughlin (Nicolas Cage) and Will Jimeno (Michael Peña) was interesting, I was much more interested in the stories of the rescue workers that went in to get them out - they were amazingly ( Read more... )

Hi

I was at Ground zero about a week and a half ago (I still cry), everybody should go there are least once. I guess for a lot of people that live in this, (NY/NJ) area of the country it is hollowed ground. My Frat president worked in the World Ttrade Center and was in a train headed there when the second plane hit, he is ok. I have a friend in my ski club that was an engineer with the Port Authority, she was on vacation that week. She lost most of the people in her office and a lot of close friends. I still think she has trouble sleeping some time (Survivor guilt). One of the guys in my office wifes owns a pharmacy in China town about six blocks from the world Trade Center, she was there when it all happend. I don't know anyone that wasn't touched in some way. One town that didn't loose somebody.

It's real personal around here.

I really like the look of the movie, too. It looks absolutely amazing. When I read it the first time, it didn't even register on me that it was set in China :P Duh

Yes the book is excellent - the ending is sad but I think it was signposted quite clearly from the beginning of the book that This Book Does Not End Well, so I wasn't shocked when I got there :D

I don't think I will Watch "world trade center" I had downloaded the other movie that dealt with the passengers from the flight that crashed, but I could not watch it. it's still too early for me to turn such events into entertainment. I almost had to force myself to watch Munich, and was happy I did, it was not all black and white as I had dreaded it. So what I mean is that I need time to be able to view the dramatization of events which consequences are still shaking and shaping our world.

I have watched the trailer of the Painted veil, so several tings here, I love the music from the trailer ( loved, love the last samurai *g* of course ), I love Edward Norton, I love what I saw in the trailer, it gave me goose bumps !!! I have to see that movie, any idea when It is released ? thanks for sharing :D *hug*

I haven't been able to watch Munich yet because I was afraid I'd get really depressed and I didn't want to watch Flight 93 but my friend wanted to see it. World Trade Centre is hopeful which was why I watched it because I'm a sucker for movies about triumph of the human spirit and goodness coming out of evil :P I'm easily inspired :D
