Title: Pic Fic: The Rest is Silence
Characters: Apollo/Sharon
Spoilers: Miniseries, season 1 and season 1
Notes: Sharon-centric as it is written from Apollo's point of view. Very much AU (duh! :). ( Evil Misleading cut that takes you to an intro plus links to the actual story )

this doesn't mean i love helo any less, dark ships, battlestar galactica, secondary ships, screencaps, apollo/sharon, pic fic, not so secret ships, fan fiction

That was really excellent! I have to admit, I loved Apollo/Sharon before I met you but I had no true involvement in the ship. You've given me that! It feels like we have a little ship going ;).

Maybe an Apollo/Sharon community soon? What do you think? :D

There were some excellent icon-worthy images of Sharon in there, too!

You make some very interesting observations about Apollo, Koala. I think the "whiny angsty parental issue" Apollo is sort of what stuck in my head after the mini, and it was kind of hard for me to connect with him. I mean, don't the majoriry of guys have unresolved issues with their father? It just wasn't that compelling to me.

But your point about him being damaged goods, non-hedonistic, and ascetic...very true I think. He does care for the people around him...he's not a particurily tough guy either (me thinks of the scene in flight of the phoenix where he's annoyed about the viper being scrapped, but doesn't take it out on chief, just encourages him).

So then I thought - what would be the biggest, most hurtful and 'sad' fall? Make him fall for a Cylon

Now see this is the part I find fascinating...and I'm just thinking out loud here...What would make him fall for Sharon? Some would say the emotion of hate borders on the emotion of love, but still...me ponders... :)

Then suddenly, she's back. He's seething with hatred and emotion and the person he used know suddenly appears to have grown a 'spine'. She talks back, she challenges him - she's his equal in every way including strength - in which she in fact exceeds him.

AHH! Now see, this is what I was missing in my mind. I can totally see this prompting his fascination...must ponder further...

I'm not sure if you noticed but in my pic fic there was no suggestion that Sharon returns his feelings, that Apollo thinks she does or even expects he to do so

Oh that's my favorite part of your pic!fic. :D "She doesn't know that I know every flicker, every expression that appears on her face." - "No one can ever know. She can never know."

Ack, ok, too much time spent looking at pretty pictures of Sharon and thinking about fics *that must not be written!*. :D

This is a really interesting post.

Apollo/Sharon does nothing for me (I just don't see it, requieted or un-) but well done fic does plenty and this was well done and well thought out!

Glad you liked it! :) The images are beautiful regardless of whether or not you agree with the 'vibe'. As I said, while I find Apollo fascinating - but all my tv lust is saved for for the Pooka Shelled One.

*grin* I guess it's clear that I'm a sucker for forbidden love, too ;) Thanks for the feedback. Also I just saw your feedback on the version of Artichoke posted over at Flesh and Bone. I'm so glad you liked that one - it was light and it was silly but it was so fun to write :D Thing is like Imaginary Helo, I don't even like Artichoke!
